I started off saying that I’d welcome death if that were my fate today. After reading several comments I see the answer why and I thank those who gave great advice. I would not fight for my life as I find no value in it. Some pointed out precisely that. Seek what adds value, embrace what promotes joy. I’m contemplating working on a masters degree and changing jobs. I would like to spend my time engaged in faith based counseling.

The Lord values you and He loves you- He died for you. Your life does have value- it cost Christ Jesus his life. Jesus says in Luke 12:24, “Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!”….

Psalm 94:19, “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”

Talk to the Lord and seek him and he will give you guidance, counsel, wisdom, love, and rest for your soul. He values you and loves you. 😊

Brian,

It sounds like you aren't happy in your job and life situation. I've been in your situation many times.

But, if you're living in a Western nation, you can change your job and situation. You just need to find out what you'd like to do in life, and then make a change to pursue that course. It may not be easy, and it may mean a cut in pay, or having to move away from home, but if you're following your goal it'll be worth it. It's up to you.

But I can almost guarantee that if you decide not to set a goal and pursue it, your life won't change.

Hi Brian, You are not alone. Not only have I experienced the feeling of preferring to go home with the Lord (and I am NOT suicidal either), but rather, I have experienced a troubled heart of sadness, among other discouragement....That I have told the Lord, that if I have to continue feeling hurt, brokenhearted (so much that I can hardly breath sometimes), downcast, sad, and just not understanding everything that is happening , I asked him to just bring me home! ( On more than one occasion I have asked him this), and each time he has ALWAYS been faithful to me when I have cried out to him! He has brought me out of the pit and has comforted me, and loved me through it-Every time! Also, please realize that even Apostle Paul, while in prison, in chains, said he was torn between the desire to depart and be with Christ, or remain in the body (see Philippians 1:21-26). Happiness is not the same as Joy. Happiness is based on your circumstances, Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and based on Christ Jesus. We can have Joy, even in our circumstances, because Jesus is faithful. We have Joy in knowing no matter what we are experiencing, or no matter how we feel, God is working everything together for good to those that love Him! You love Him Brian, so you can trust and believe in His promises to you! He is good and when we cry out in are distress, and when we cry out in our trouble, and when we cry out in our afflictions....The Lord is faithful and He WILL deliver us from our darkness. I would like to encourage you to read and study on Psalm 107 ....if you are in a "desert place' of life, or if you are in "chains" because of some kind of false stability, or if you are suffering in affliction because of 'folly', or experiencing a 'storm' in life...."CRY OUT" to the Lord! He will deliver you! I promise, and more importantly, God himself promises! ( You are not alone....Shalom!) :)

I think 🤔 that ALL who Love JESUS CHRIST AKA YESHUA HAMASHIACH, Would Love to BE WITH HIM NOW, Especially with all the craziness going on in this world full of evil. But there's STILL A LOT OF GOOD & A LOT OF LOVE.....DRAW NEAR TO GOD & HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU.

An Attitude of Gratitude is so ESSENTIAL Right now. The more we are Grateful, The More the Universe gives is to be Grateful for 🫂❤️‍🩹🕊️🛐👑💖💟♾️🙏💓

Practicing what @christinalynnwallace taught 🙂 I'm simply going to say that I've prayed for you this morning already and will continue - for your day today, for your night tonight, and for you overall that the God of light would be so to you, even if just a sliver. And I can too relate, though perhaps not to the same extent. God is bringing you through things I can only imagine. I have found Him faithful and true in my smaller things; I pray you will find him so too, especially when no one and nothing else is.

Can anyone relate? Am I alone in wondering why? Where is the joy?⬅️ Yes, I can relate. Whenever I see the chaos happening, the suffering of unnecessary victims in war zone, the people get scammed of their hard earned money, the disaster hit places; patient who are going through pain. I felt tremendous sadness n wish I could die n not see anymore of these.

If we aren't afraid of death, what's there to be scared of?

Hate that job, quit it; dislike that neighbourhood, move away; love that hobby, go for it!

What is stopping you?

I can die anytime too cos I'm content with my life up till now. I no longer feel joyless! Everyday is a new beginning, life is good.

Take a look in a different perspective! At least you are not living in a war zone country; you are still healthy; you have a roof over your head.

Remember, the happiest people don't have the best of everything, they simply make the best of everything! Fighting! 👍💪✌️

I wish you well n loved, Brian! 🙏😊

Thank you. My joys are helping people grow in their faith even though mine seems lacking sometimes. I enjoy good food and I like sleeping. I used to like reading and video games but have drifted away from those. I like helping people but other than listening I have very little ability to actually help.

I'm glad you found your joy in helping others. It is a very good trait to be a great listener. Sometimes, a listening ear is all that one needs.🙏😇

In college 50 years ago I had a vey serious struggle in my relationship with God wondering if I was making things right when I found out (through testing I needed) that I wasn't the believer I thought I was. There were areas of weakness that seemed to swallow me, my joy, even my hope, Eve though it remained in Christ. It drove me to daily seek Christ. I read the Word daily whether I felt I got anything out of it or not because we're told that the Word is the sword of the Spirit. I believed that if He was going to work in my life that I needed to make more of the sword available for Him to fo His work. Yes, it seemed to plague me for about a year and a half, more than 18 months. Then one day it was gone. I was relieved of this oppressive despondentness. There was no explanation, but God won. It seemed to take forever, but waiting on God it finally came to pass.

That is and has been for days, months, and years I have encountered similar occasions since then.
